                                Religious Education

The goal of the Religious Education Program is to foster growth in faith through full, active and conscious participation at Mass, the heart of the life of the Catholic Community of South Windsor. Religious Education, joined to worship at Mass serves to enrich the faith life of participants at each stage of the persons development; and to help each person respond more fully to God’s word. Religious education is the lifelong process, begun at Baptism, with the promise made by parents to accept “the responsibility of training him/her/them in the practice of faith. It will be your duty to bring him/her/them up to keep God's commandments as Christ taught us, by loving God and our neighbor. Do you clearly understand what you are undertaking” and again before the actual pouring of the water: “On your part, you must make it your constant care to bring him/her/them up in the practice of faith. See that the divine life which God gives him/her/them is kept safe from the poison of sin, to grow always stronger in his/her/their heart (s). If your faith makes you ready to accept this responsibility, renew now the vows of your own baptism”.

The Religious Education of the Catholic Community of South Windsor, seeks to    support the parents as the primary religious teachers of their children.

Parish registration is required, for all students participating in our program. WE are happy to invite and welcome new members of the Catholic Community of South Windsor to participate in either of the two vibrant parishes: St. Francis of Assisi and St. Margaret Mary.

Because you are entrusting your students faith development to another person a Religious Education registration form must be filled out each year.

We can only help one another in providing religious education for the children and young adults of our Catholic Community if we have the adult volunteers are needed to teach. Orientation, training and materials are provided. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact us, at either church office.
